A sunday morning ritual

Rather by surprised I was invited (read: dragged) to join some friends of mine to watch some other friends of mine play football (read: soccer). The weather being the inpredictable mix of cold bright sunshine and faint grey drizzle that is become the stereotype meteorological state in this part of Europe, the other supporters being mostly those former football players still shunning the family life, the tavern/cafeteria being no more no les than what may be expected; reasonably priced, average amount of choice in cheap alcoholic, warm and children friendly beverages, some salt and sweet munchies and after the match fried snacks. Life might get a lot better than this, but it is as pleasurable a way of spending time doing nothing than any other.

Jogging

Is it me or is everyone trying really really hard to keep/get in shape while the somewhat unfamiliar warmish weather lasts? I did notice a fair amount of runners and walkers making laps along the riverside nearby my homestead.

The Ripple Effect

Is any of you, dear readers aware of the ripple effect?

The infinite puddle of joy an empty swimming pool can be and then to plunge in. To make the first ripple and then continue to make them, ...

It was absolutely bloody brilliant. Brilliant! I tell you.

Apart from having to pass under the nose and scrutinising looks of well-trained athletes, wearing little more-if in fact not less- than your underwear, displaying a technique at best mediocre for kindergarten level. But nontheless I had serious fun.

Ikae Crossing

One must do something, and so it happens that after reading a book, correcting English tests, preparing lunch, doing the laundry and taking a shower (in no particular order), I found myself on the way to Ikea where I timed the cross-Ikea run of two of my housemates.

Uh... and that's about all I really had to say.

Regatta

For some reason or other my university organised a regatta. Apart from the sunshine, the athletic males in tight sports outfit, the pleasant company and the excitement, I also enjoyed it because I won a prize. In the on-shore rowing machine thingy competion for girls I became third (very likely because only three girls competed) and am now the happy owner of a Ghent University T-shirt.
