Aren't you cold?

It being cold, and myself wearing a short though not miniscule skirt seems to be a conversationtriggering combination. When getting some fresh air this morning, five complete strangers asked me if I wasn't too cold. (It would appear not, only my hands were freezing but that could have had nothing to do with my short skirt.) Three of them tried to persuade me to dress warmer, or stay inside.
Strangely yesterday it was also cold, I was also wearing a short skirt and I also made a lengthy walk but not a living soul talked to me. Maybe the blue scarf I was wearing frightened them off.

The Good Old Days

Today, I feel will be a good day. It's 10 am I've been up for about an hour and am still in PJ's, mom's bossing around, cooking and cleaning and trying to get everyone to get a bath. There's a family gathering this evening, which means something to look forward to and a good reason not to stuff ourselves at lunchtime. I have little else to do but await my turn to bathe. There is an atmosphere of relaxed productivity around, no (moral) obligation to do anything but all the time to do it, should one want to. And in my heart I know, ten years or even five years from now, busy with deadlines stressed with work and expecting a first child I'll be thinking back of days like today and call them 'The Good Old Days'. Life, for once, is good.

Valentine's Day

While others girls have to spend torturing hours in de bathroom to look beautiful tonight, or stuff themselves with chocolates they buy themselves to forget the fact they weren't given by a handsome and devoted young man, I spend my valentine's day trying to decide which homework to do first, ending up doing none even though I had nothing else to do this afternoon.
But it's valentine's day; the day we celebrate those and that which we love, I don't love homework so... but I do love short walks, cooking, going to the library, making lists (check out the shoes list at my other blog), talking to my fish, read fashion magazines, post new messages on my blog and write letters to my penfriends. And that is what I have done or will do.

P.S. I also love being kissed in the rain but I can't do that on my own, too bad.

Railways

Today I went to the national archives and documentation centre of the Belgian railways. "What for?" You might wonder. To find information. "What information?" On the construction of the first Chinese Railroads and the part of Belgian companies in it. " Did I find anything?" Oh yes, though not at all what I was looking for, and no sources of direct use, but enough to occupy myself for an entire week's evenings.
